Author Guidelines

Discussions (10.5pt, Arial)

This should be an interpretation or exploration of the results rather than a repetition of the results section.  Cite only the important references to your research, state some conditions that could have influenced your data. Keep it as short and concise as possible. It is also importance to state the implication or relevance of your research or study to other researchs

 

 

Conclusions (10.5pt, Arial)

Give a clear summary of the outcome to the research or study question make sure you answer to the yout reseach questions.

 

Acknowledgements (if any, 10.5pt, Arial)

Acknowledgments are addressed to professionals who assist with the preparation of the papers, including technical, funding and general support of an institution

 

References (9 pt, Arial)

The bibliography to be mentioned in sequence according to the appearance in the whole text and is written based on the rules of Vancouver. The number of bibliography should not exceed 30 and is limited to journals/publications that are published in the last decade. For magazine or journal name in the bibliography, author to follow List of Journal Indexed in Index Medicus. You may use references management software such as Mendeley, Zotero or EndNote

Author Guidelines

A. Submission
If the author intends to publish an article in eJKI, he/she should registered to http://journal.ui.ac.id/eJKI than manuscript must be upload through online submission. Articles to be published should never been published before in any other journals or publications and must not contain plagiarism.


B. Article Type

Scientific articles published in eJKI include:
1. Editorial: an article that addresses current issues of medical and health or discusses about medical issues and the alternative solutions. The systematics of editorial are: title, introduction, paper contents, conclusion and bibliography.

2. Research articles: a scientific work of research results in medical and health derived from thesis or other types of research. The systematic of research articles are: Title, abstract and keywords in Indonesian and English, introduction, method of analysis, results, discussion, conclusions and bibliography.

3. Case report: an article that discusses interesting cases or rare cases and its management. The systematic of case report articles are: title, abstract and keywords in Indonesian and English, introduction, case illustration, discussion, conclusion, bibliography.

4. Evidence-based case report (EBCR): an article that addresses clinical issues with an evidence-based approach. The systematics of EBCR are: title, abstract and keywords in Indonesian and English, introduction, clinical case or scenario, formulation of the research, evidence research strategy, research results, discussion, conclusions, bibliography.

5. Literature review: an article covering all types of scientific articles besides research results. A literature review examines a theory, develops a model, describes a fact or phenomenon and assesses a new product of medical or health science. The systematic of literature review articles are: title, abstract and keywords in Indonesian and English, introduction, discussion, conclusions, bibliography.

C. General Instructions
The article to be written in Indonesian or English in narrative form. It is typed with Arial font, size 10.5 pts, left right axis, spaces 1.15 and A4 paper size of 15 pages with margins up/down/left/right each 3 cm. Articles to be uploaded to e-JKI portal in .doc or .docx format.
The uploaded article will be discussed by the editor for the suitability of format, systematics and language, then the article will be reviewed by peer reviewers in terms of scientific contents. Articles that need to be improved on the format and/or content will be returned so that the authors have an opportunity to make improvements based on editorial and peer reviewers' notes. The author will get a notification of acceptance or rejection of the article by email.

D. Format of Article Writing

Title
The title is written briefly, specifically, straightforward and reflects the content of the article. It should not exceed 15 words, written with title case (each word begins with a capital letter) with a size of 14 pts, single space, and uses center flat. Title to be written in both Indonesian and English.

Identity of the Author
The name of the author is completely written without any academic degree/position/rank; and to be placed one space under the title of the article. The author's institution is placed under the author's name. A correspondence address in form of email address to be mentioned for easy communication.


Abstracts and Keywords
Abstracts are written in two languages (Indonesian and English) in the form of one paragraph with a maximum of 200 words. Abstract formats are introductions, methods, results, and discussions, that are written concisely. Abstract to be typed with 9 pts and single space. The final part of the abstract contains keywords that reflect the concepts of the article and help to improve the accessibility of articles, as well as for index preparation. Abstract to mention maximum of 5 keywords in each Indonesian and English.

Article
Article to consist of several sections according to article type. For research involving humans or animals testing, article to include ethical clearance from the relevant ethical commissions.

1. Introduction (10.5pt, Arial)

      Background information, give the information that is useful for introducing you research. This background information must make clear to the reader why you are asking your research question. Avoiding a detailed literature review. In this part also consist of  the research question/the aim of the study or the objective of the work. State the question either as a question or as a hypothesis.


2. Methods (10.5pt, Arial)

            Describe methods applied in your research or study. Describe the approach or the study design, including both independent and dependent variables and use of statistics. If the methode has been published, write the source as a citation.

 

3. Results (10.5pt, Arial)

Describe the results obtained based on the research or study question and the methods applied. Write the result clearly and concise. You may perform the result as table or figure.

a. Table Presentation
Table size must not exceed 1 page. The table comes with a subtitle on each column written in the title case. An article is allowed to have maximum 5 pieces of table and image (1 table for every 1000 words). Word of "Table" are written on the edges followed by numbers with Arabic numerals and table titles. The title of the table is placed above the table, written with title case except for the conjunctives. The table number to be mentioned in sequence according to the appearance on the text. The table is created without displaying the column lines, and the row lines only displayed to separate the table caption title and end the contents of the table. The table is typed using Arial font, 9 pts.

b. Image Presentation
The term image refers to graphs, charts, maps, sketches, diagrams and other images. The title of the image is placed underneath the image, boldly written with title case except the conjunctives. The image is numbered according to the appearance in the text, the number of tables and images maximum of 5 pieces. The mention of the image must precede the image. Images that require more than half a page should be placed on separate pages. If the form of images are people who may be recognized or an illustration that have been published, then it must be accompanied by written permission.

 

4. Discussions (10.5pt, Arial)
