Abstract: This paper presents a survey work on fitness for duty of individuals performing emergency training. The research work is to address and investigate the effect of fitness for duty to individuals performing escape and evacuation on offshore platforms in tropical water. Human performance can be affected by both physical and mental conditions of individuals. Performance shaping factors (PSFs) are used to address the strength and weakness of individual performing escape and evacuation activities. The PSFs are as follows; time, environment factors as stressors to individual, the complexity of activity, individual’s experience and training of escape and evacuation, the interaction between individual and emergency equipment, individual’s physical conditions, and procedures.
